Chronic Illness

70% of all Americans have a prescription for at least one pharmaceutical drug.  This is because chronic disease has exploded in this country and in Western society in general.  Three quarters of all doctor visits concern chronic disease, however, for the most part all conventional medicine has to offer for this epidemic is symptom management.  Chronic diseases are considered “lifestyle” dependent conditions, and indeed 80% of all chronic illness can be prevented or reversed by the major lifestyle factors of good nutrition, adequate exercise and sleep, a positive attitude (leading to less stress) and good community.

Of these factors, the one that has the most confusion associated with it is Nutrition.  This is not surprising considering that food is the largest industry in the world and we have huge corporations spending massive amounts of money attempting to influence our food choices in a way that enhances their bottom line.  Unfortunately, our individual and collective health is sacrificed in the process.

What does a good diet look like?  Contrary to popular belief, there is a widespread consensus among leading nutritionists as to what makes up an optimal diet for humans: all or mostly all whole plants.  A whole-food, plant-based diet can prevent and in some cases reverse 80% of chronic illness.  While around 100,000 studies per year confirm this fact, most of this information will not see the light of day in terms of public awareness because it doesn’t fit the mission of corporate advertising budgets and advertising is how most people get the majority of their information on nutrition.

Our mission is to help you take advantage of what we already know about health and nutrition to upgrade your health leading to the prevention and / or reversal of chronic ailments and an overall higher quality of life and energy in general.

Weight Loss

Two thirds of Americans are overweight or obese, leading to increased risk for many diseases including: Heart Disease, Stroke, High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Cancer, Gallbladder Disease, Osteoarthritis, and Gout among others.

People on a Whole-Foods, Plant-Based diet are on average 30 lbs. lighter than those on the Standard American Diet.  With this approach people experience sustainable, healthy weight loss without hunger or cravings, or measuring portions or counting calories.

Alchemy

Alchemy involves the change of something from a “lesser” to a “higher” state. The classic image is of changing lead into gold.  The two things we are promoting alchemical change in are our physical bodies and the environment. Our MicroGreens are grown with Ocean Minerals which means that when you consume them, you are receiving a full spectrum of minerals. Read about the importance of Minerals for Physical and Environmental Health here.

Internal Alchemy

Internal Alchemy involves a change in our habit patterns that lead to a New Way of Being.  Among the lifestyle habits most affecting our health, our relationship with food is often the most challenging.  Besides being one of our most ingrained habit patterns, there is unfortunately a great deal of misinformation regarding nutrition floating around in our culture today. The Nutritional Health Upgrade Program is a class series that that aims to give you the information and support you need to make the lifestyle changes that will best support your optimum health.

Wheatgrass

You may already be familiar with some of the amazing health benefits of wheatgrass. Wheatgrass is unique in that it has the capacity to absorb all 92 non-radioactive elements and deliver them to us in a perfect ratio and form that is most optimum for our health. However, all wheatgrass is not equal. It will only have a full spectrum of minerals if those minerals were available to it in the right form and ratios while it is growing. Sea water can provide a full spectrum of minerals. If your wheatgrass is not grown with Ocean Minerals you are not getting the full potential benefits. Read about the benefits of fully mineralized wheatgrass here.
